What we do
Finding something that might be asbestos, in the middle of a renovation or after a storm, raises questions quickly. Is it allowed? Who can remove it? How do I check them? Finding a licensed removalist who works in your suburb takes time. We do that part.
You get in touch. We take down what you’ve found, where it is, roughly how big it is, and whether it’s damaged. If you agree, we pass your details to one independent business that works in your area: a SafeWork NSW-licensed asbestos removalist for removal, or a business that inspects and tests for asbestos if that’s what you need. They call you, look at the job, quote and do the work. Your agreement for the work is with them, not with us.
What we don’t do
We don’t remove asbestos, take or test samples, set prices or employ removalists. We can’t tell you whether a material is asbestos: only a laboratory test of a sample can (SafeWork NSW). We’re not connected with Central Coast Council, SafeWork NSW or any other government agency. We don’t pass your details to more than one business, and we don’t pass them on at all without your permission.
The businesses we refer to
Before we send a removalist anything, we check its asbestos removal licence on SafeWork NSW’s public register at verify.licence.nsw.gov.au and record the licence number and class. We also check its ABN on ABN Lookup.
You can check a licence yourself. The register shows the licence number and type, status, expiry date and conditions (SafeWork NSW).
For testing, ask the business which licence it holds, if any. SafeWork NSW requires an asbestos assessor licence for air monitoring and clearance certificates on friable asbestos removal work (SafeWork NSW).
How we’re paid
Asbestos businesses pay us for the enquiries we send them. You don’t pay us anything. Our referral marketing disclosure explains this in full.
